Apple Cream Cheese Torte

Fabulous Apple Cream Cheese Torte Recipe by Merle Howell Naylor


  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar, divided
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 8oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. apple pie spice
  • 1 tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 5 Gala or sweet apples, peeled and sliced


Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees.
Beat butter and 1/3 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Add 1 cup flour and beat well.
Line bottom of a 9” cheesecake pan with parchment paper. Spread flour mixture on bottom and 1” up sides of pan.
Beat together cream cheese, 1/3 cup sugar, egg and vanilla. Spread on top of crust.
Add remaining 1/3 cup sugar, apple pie spice and 1 tsp. flour to apples. Spread mixture on top of cream cheese layer. Sprinkle nuts on top.
Bake 10 minutes, then reduce temperature to 375 and bake for 35 minutes.
Cool on wire rack, then refrigerate over night.
Remove from pan and place on serving plate. Drizzle top, and let drip down the sides with caramel sauce.
